At Water’s Edge looks into unexplored corners of ambient electronica to uncover beauty in unexpected places. Music is everywhere–sometimes pretty, sometimes dark, always beautiful. awe.fm
Music is everywhere, in everything: in the hum of a city,
in the pulse of construction machinery or a heartbeat,
in footsteps, in laughter, in breath, in the shuffling of an impatient audience…
and, like John Cage’s “Four minutes and thirty-three seconds”,
all you have to do is sit and listen.
At Water's Edge, 9 January 2016: Night Lights
Two albums and two photographers on this week's edition of At Water's Edge. We'll hear the new release from Cloudwalk (Paul Mehlhaff): "Song of Night, Song of Light" (cloudwalk.bandcamp.com/), and we're pairing that with an enormous and beautiful collaboration between Scott Lawlor (Stillstream's Featured Artist this month) and Jack Hertz: "Divina Commedia III (Nine Spheres)" (auralfilms.bandcamp.com/album/divina-commedia-iii-nine-spheres).
And in the video stream, we'll see some fantastic night photography from Silva Capitana and Theresa Gentry Saxon.
